Loved their sandwiches. It was really yummy, definitely value for money. The meat was tender and the people are so friendly! Would visit them again surely.
happened to be in the area and remembered this spot for smash burgers. experience overall was excellent. double smash burger was very delicious but the patty was a touch dry. overall taste was very good. loaded fries with chicken was hot and fresh and crispy. portion of the fires was excellent. overall I will be coming back to try more items and maybe go for a triple
I was glad the to-go container was not styrofoam but paper, and they put food-grade paper underneath the burger to contain any moisture, which also makes it easy to pull everything onto a plate if you take it home and don't want to eat out of the box. This place is takeout only, afterall. It's located in the gas station building, which is a small convenience store itself, and makes it convenient to pick up a meal while you get gas. An order actually takes about 15 minutes to prep, so it's best to order ahead, using the QR code on the back of their menu (see picture). When they're busiest, between 12-2, and 5-7, allow about 30 minutes between order and pick-up. Now, the food itself: these are large circumference smashburgers, and everything is apparently halal (which I'm not that familiar with, but I know the concept). I got the Wild West BBQ burger, which came with fries, and they threw in a few mango-habenero chicken wings they're experimenting with. He also gave me some of their proprietary "good sauce" on the side to dip the fries in. I took everything home, put it on a plate and dug in. The burger patty is much bigger than the bun, which is I think intended, but I would prefer a tighter burger, even if it means layering two thin patties or just less meat. I found the edges were dried out ever so slightly, and the burger got better as I ate toward the middle, getting to the part that had the cheese, BBQ sauce and onion rings. The fries are great, and the "good sauce" is, well, very good. I couldn't put my finger on what's in it, but it's nothing too overpowering, and yet has plenty of flavor. (I had some leftover, and put it on a burger I made myself the next day, and really enjoyed it that way too). The mango habanero wings were standard, and I'd try them again tossed in good sauce. They were not spicy (to me), so I'd like to see them ratchet the spice level for that habanero sauce up a couple notches, and also see if they can dry out the wing (with baking soda etc) beforehand to crisp it up a bit, so it has a crisp bite; that's always good. I want to go back to try the milkshakes and the byo chips. They said you can bring a standard bag of chips from home, or buy a bag at the gas station, which has plenty of selection, but if you bring a huge family sized bag, you'd best get a double order. This place is good stuff, so that sounds good to me.
I noticed this place on my way to Oak Park. I stopped by for dinner and got a single patty smash burger and a chocolate milkshake. The patties are super thin so next time I'll be getting a double patty but it was delicious. The chocolate milkshake was fantastic. The gentleman that took my order offered to let me try a new menu item that is going to be added soon. I forgot the name of it but it has rice, lettuce, zucchini, tomatoes, ground beef, and their house sauce. I wasn't sure what to expect but it was absolutely delicious, the house sauce is amazing and pulls everything together. I look forward to going again and seeing new items on the menu!
